Double Oak

If you’ve been longing for the open spaces of rural living, with the nearby convenience of vibrant shopping and excellent dining, Double Oak is the perfect town to call home!

Our little gem is located just west of Flower Mound, and bordered by FM-407 (Justin Road) to the north and FM-1171 (Cross Timbers Road) to the south. To our east is the Highland Village Shopping area with excellent theaters, well respected retailers and very popular restaurants. To our west…well, that’s pretty much open country!

On May 25, 1974, Double Oak became a town – population 243. Today the population is about 2,900.

Double Oak is defined as a General Law City and is restricted to single family residences with a minimum 1-acre lot size. Residents govern Double Oak represented by a mayor and a town council of five members. The Council meets the first and third Mondays of each month at 7:00 p.m. in the Town Hall; and residents are encouraged to attend.

Double Oak is protected 24-hours a day, 365 days a year, by a full-time law enforcement team and highly experienced volunteer fire department. In any emergency, Double Oak residents can dial 911 to receive a dispatcher at the Denton County Sheriff’ s Department.

Our fire department is funded by residents’ donations, the Double Oak Women’s Club, and our annual Fourth of July Festivities. Interested in helping out? The Double Oak Volunteer Fire Department always welcomes new volunteers!
